TikTok downloader not working? Start here

Find the stage that failed: the input, the result, the file transfer or playback. Read the specific message before trying again.

Browser instructions are based on the official documentation linked below. Menu labels can vary by browser and device.

Identify what actually happened

Write down the visible message before trying again. A loading indicator, a returned file option, a browser transfer and a playable saved file represent different stages. Solving the wrong stage can create repeated requests without getting you closer to a usable copy.

  • Input error: check the URL and the selected tool.
  • No result: check availability and any stated request limit.
  • Transfer error: inspect the browser's download message.
  • Saved file problem: confirm the file type and test playback.

Invalid linkPaste the complete individual post or share link, beginning with https://.
Restricted or unavailable postCheck the source. A signed-in view does not establish public availability.
Request limitWait for the stated retry time before checking again.
Request timeoutCheck your connection, then retry the failed item.
Expired file optionsRequest fresh options while the source is still available.
Service unavailableWait and try again. Stories are not supported by this service.

If the post is private, removed or unavailable

Check whether the original post still opens and whether it is public. Access in your signed-in account does not establish that a public downloader can retrieve it. An ambiguous failure should be treated as unavailable unless the service confirms a more specific cause.

TikTok's own download settings let creators control saving. The platform states that certain private-account settings prevent enabling downloads. Do not provide passwords, login codes or browser session data to make a public download workflow reach restricted content. Use your own original or ask the creator for an authorized copy.

If you see a limit or the request stalls

Follow the actual wait time when the service gives one. Without a stated time, wait before an intentional retry rather than inventing a countdown or repeatedly pressing the action button. Keep the input available so you can retry the same intended task.

For a temporary source failure, try once later. A failure in one request does not prove that the post was deleted. If the interface remains stuck, cancel it when possible and keep a note of the symptom. In batch mode, review each item separately; one successful result does not establish that the others succeeded.

If a real file download fails

Inspect the browser's exact error. Google distinguishes a missing file, insufficient disk space and permission problems in Chrome. It also recommends checking the connection for common transfer failures. Choose a destination you can access and confirm there is room before retrying a real file.

An old download option may no longer work. If the source is still available, request fresh options from the working service rather than repeatedly opening an old file link. Keep result generation separate from file completion: seeing a card on the page does not establish that anything was saved.

If the browser blocks a download

Read the warning instead of treating every block as a false alarm. Chrome documents protections against dangerous downloads. Keep those protections enabled while checking the source and the file you expected. A video-saving task should not require you to ignore an unexplained software download.

If the message says the file needs permission, do not try to defeat that restriction. Confirm that you are entitled to obtain the file and use an approved source. Record the non-sensitive error wording if you need help.

If the file is missing, silent or the wrong type

Look in the browser's download list before assuming a completed file is lost. On iPhone, Apple's starting point is the Downloads folder in Files. Use the appropriate device guide below for other locations. A photo-library thumbnail is not the only way to confirm that a file exists.

For a file that opens without sound, check whether the source had sound and whether you selected video or audio-only output. Compare the beginning and end with the intended clip. Changing a filename or extension cannot add missing audio, restore detail or turn a still image into a video.

Keep a useful error description

Describe the tool, device, browser, action and visible error. Say whether you received only a result or also a saved file. Avoid including credentials, private links or unrelated personal details. The contact page explains the currently available support route; do not assume a draft form has delivered a message.

Good questions, clear answers

What if my download does not start?

Read the result message first. Wait if a request limit is shown, or check the link again if file options expired. A saved file should appear in your browser’s download list. Device-specific saving behavior still needs checking on your phone or computer.

Does no result mean the video was deleted?

No. Unsupported inputs, restricted access, temporary problems and source changes can also prevent a result. Use a specific cause only when it is confirmed.

Will repeated retries solve a rate limit?

Repeated requests are not a reliable way to clear a rate limit. Follow any stated delay and retry deliberately, keeping the original input so you do not have to reconstruct it.
